Emergency Snake Removal

Is It Venomous?

Most snakes in Louisville are harmless pest-eaters. Here is how to tell.

Non-Venomous (Safe)

Rat Snakes, Garter Snakes, Racers

  • Pupils: Round (like a human).
  • Head Shape: Oval, continuous with neck.
  • Behavior: Often climb trees or freeze when seen.

Venomous (Danger)

Copperhead, Timber Rattlesnake

  • Pupils: Vertical slits (cat-like).
  • Head Shape: Triangular/Arrowhead (wide jaw).
  • Pattern: Copperheads have an "Hourglass" pattern.

Where Did It Come From?

The location of the snake often tells us what species it is and why it's there.

Snakes in the Basement

Likely Suspect: Garter Snake, Racer, or Copperhead.
They enter through cracks in the foundation, gaps around pipes, or under garage door seals seeking cool temperatures during summer heatwaves.

The Fix:

Sealing the "sill plate" (where wood meets concrete) and installing heavy-duty door sweeps.

Snakes in the Attic

Likely Suspect: Black Rat Snake.
These represent 90% of attic calls. They are excellent climbers and follow the scent of mice or bats into your upper levels. If you have a snake in the attic, you have a rodent problem.

The Fix:

We must solve the rodent issue first. Removing the food source causes the snakes to leave on their own.

Snake Control Costs

01

Emergency Service Call (Flat Fee)

If you are staring at a snake right now, we charge a flat emergency dispatch fee to come out immediately, capture it, and remove it.

02

Property Inspection

If the snake is gone but you want to know how it got in, we perform a full home inspection to identify entry points. This is often included if you purchase a sealing package.

03

Snake Proofing (Quote)

Sealing a foundation requires time and materials (mortar, foam, copper mesh). We provide a specific price quote for this prevention work.

How We Solve Snake Problems

1. Inspection & ID

We search likely hiding spots (crawlspaces, woodpiles) and identify the species to determine the risk level.

2. Removal

We use professional snake tongs and hooks to safely capture and remove the animal without harming it.

3. Exclusion

We seal foundation cracks and install door sweeps. Crucial: We also advise on rodent control, removing the snake's food source.
