Woodpecker Control
Stop the drilling and damage legally. We protect your siding from woodpeckers while complying with federal wildlife laws.
Schedule InspectionWhy Are They Pecking?
The solution depends on the behavior. We identify the root cause.
1. Drumming
Sign: Rapid-fire machine gun noise, usually on metal gutters or chimneys. Little to no physical damage.
Goal: Attract a mate or claim territory. Common in Spring.
2. Feeding
Sign: Irregular rows of small holes in siding. Birds are digging for carpenter bee larvae or bugs.
Goal: Food. You may have an insect infestation.
3. Nesting
Sign: Large, perfectly round holes (2-3 inches) dug deep into the fascia or siding.
Goal: Shelter. They are trying to live in your wall.
Legal Deterrents
Because woodpeckers are federally protected, we use a combination of auditory, visual, and physical deterrents to encourage them to move to a natural habitat.
- Visual Scares: Reflective flash tape and specialized balloons that disrupt their focus.
- Exclusion Netting: Installing barely visible netting over siding to prevent them from landing.
- Damage Repair: Filling holes with specialized hardening compounds that they cannot peck through.
EIFS / Stucco Warning
Homes with EIFS (synthetic stucco) are magnets for woodpeckers. The hollow sound mimics a dead tree, and the foam is easy to dig.
Once a hole is made, other birds (Starlings) often move in. We specialize in EIFS protection and repair.
